Insufficient attention devoted to data protection means a time bomb waiting to explode. That's because a leisurely attitude towards handling data can prove costly. The Federal Data Protection and Privacy Act only protects personal data, not know-how and company data. Every year, companies suffer losses in the millions as a result of industrial espionage. Results of a survey have shown that 40 % of all offices in Germany do not even have a document shredder. However, the careless disposal of confidential personal data can have legal consequences. It's not just banks, physicians, accountants or lawyers who must ensure that their waste paper doesn't fall into the wrong hands: Personal data – including staff data – should be protected from unauthorised access in every type of business. This applies to disposal as well as storage.

Therefore current data belongs under lock and key and unwanted data media should go straight into a document shredder! There are six security levels designed to provide just the right degree of security you need.
With new cutting roller technology, HSM has entered a new dimension of document shredders. Shredding documents to a degree exceeding DIN security level 5 proves once again the strength of HSM's technological innovation. “HS Level 6”, developed by HSM, sets new standards for security and is particularly suited for use in government offices, banks, insurance companies or security agencies.

The thousands of small razor-sharp teeth on steel cutting rollers that are lathed, hardened and ground can shred a single sheet of
A4 paper into 15,000 bits. The resulting 1 x 5 mm particles are absolutely illegible!

Potential target groups for HSM document shredders range from private households (which also have data which should be protected) to US authorities and its security agencies (such as the CIA or FBI) who are showing great interest in the new HS Level 6 models. All over the world, US authorities are installing these new machines. And these machines will soon be finding their way into the area of basic research for the essential knowledge base of industrial and development companies.
