2011-06-22 - HSM presents its manufacturing expertise at the Security trade fair in Munich

HSM, the Frickingen-based manufacturer of document shredders, cutting machines and baling presses, will be presenting its innovative data protection products at Hall B0, Stand E09 at the Security trade fair in Munich from 6–7 July 2011.

Hard drive shredder HSM HDS 230Over the past years, the destruction of digital data has become increasingly important. This is why HSM has now added to its range the HSM Powerline HDS 230, which destroys hard drives completely; this complements its digital shredder, which destroys hard drives mechanically. Now, hard drives and magnetic tapes up to 3.5", CDs/DVDs, floppy discs and USB sticks can be destroyed. The energy-efficient motors acc. to IEC 60034-30 are specifically designed for continuous operation and a high throughput performance of up to 360 hard disks per hour. Useful functions such as continuous operation and reverse can be controlled using a multi-functional control and display unit.

It will also be possible to examine and test a broad range of document shredders at the HSM trade fair stand. Shredders make confidential documents unreadable, and they do this at different security levels that offer an increasing degree of security. The HSM cutting unit with its solid stainless steel cutting rollers is an indispensable centre-piece, particularly for shredding large bulks which require high performance at all times. In addition to the standard, HSM has other high security levels: e.g. HS level 6 for documents and highest security OMDD for digital data carriers such as CDs and DVDs. American security authorities at the highest level have confidence in HSM’s highest security technology, which makes reconstructing documents impossible.

HS Level 6The specially developed security level “HS Level 6” has set new standards in matters of security. The thousands of small razor-sharp teeth on steel cutting rollers that are lathed, hardened and ground can shred a single sheet of DIN A4 paper into around 15,000 bits. At 1 x 5 mm, the resulting particles are absolutely illegible.
